Danny Bastos has rounded up an amazing cast of local Colorado musicians who perform regularly throughout Colorado as The DBC.The DBC recorded, produced, mixed, mastered and released their self-titled EP The DBC last summer. The DBC is an eclectic mix of original rock, jazz and world music best described as a modern-day Steely Dan that captivates audiences with their live performances filled with improvisation and musical spirit. The last day in February is set for the return of Nordic racing to Grand Lake.On Saturday, Feb. 28, the Foxy Freestyle Nordic Race will be held at the Grand Lake Nordic Center. The Foxy Freestyle is a re-imagining of the no longer operational Grand Lake Classic, which was held for 25 years at the Grand Lake Nordic Center before being discontinued in 2007.The Foxy Freestyle is being staged by the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD), and all proceeds from the event will go to the organization. Theft suspect scheduled to appear in District Court March 2

HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS — Elizabeth Valree Carmichael, 47, is scheduled to appear in District Court on Monday, March 2, for an advisement hearing on charges she stole more than $451,000 from the Bear Mountain Ranch in western Grand County.An arrest warrant was issued on Jan. 7 for Carmichael, who now lives in Lubbock, Texas. The suspect turned herself into Colorado authorities on Jan. 17, according to court documents, posted bond and returned to Lubbock with the permission of the 14th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, which is prosecuting the case.Court documents indicate Carmichael needs to travel to the Southwest and East …
