Trail Ridge Road resurfacing project begins July 29

On Wednesday, July 29, weather permitting, a resurfacing project will begin on Trail Ridge Road from Lava Cliffs to the Colorado River Trailhead, an approximate 14-mile section. During the project, traffic will be reduced to one lane, and 15-minute delays should be expected.These delays will take place through Aug. 21 with intermittent delays up to Sept. 1. Work is not planned to take place during weekends. The parking lot at Lava Cliffs along Trail Ridge Road and half of the Timber Lake Trailhead parking lot on the west side will be closed during this project for the staging of materials.Timber …

Shining Stars welcomes 250 people to Grand County for week of adventure

The Shining Stars Foundation welcomes over 50 children with cancer or other life-threatening illnesses and their families to Grand County for a host of activities July 29 through Aug. 2.Activities for the five-day overnight camp include a day at Winter Park Resort, a day in Grand Lake, boating, fishing, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, a rodeo, concerts, Recreation Center activities, a cooking class, tubing, museum visit, and many others.
