Emma's new computer is quite the novelty in a world set 15 years in the past. Her neighbor Josh brings her a disc that came in the mail for something called AOL, just so they can see what it is. After an incredibly long download, the pair finds themselves looking at Facebook, and their lives 20 years in the future, but can't comprehend all the twists and turns that it takes--you can change friends at the click of the mouse, you can change your entire life at the click of that same mouse. Emma finds herself engrossed in making her future perfect, while Josh sees through the temptation. What will Emma do? What will she give up in today's life, for the hope of creating a perfect life later? How is it that Josh sees through the trickery, and sticks solidly to his deep roots and friendships of their day-to-day life in the early days of the Internet?
