Who are The Friends?
The Friends of the Grand County Library, Inc. is an all volunteer, non-profit organization, governed and guided by a Board of Directors. Membership includes parents, teachers, students, business and community leaders and others who share a commitment to the excellence of the Grand County Library system. Libraries are an important community asset!
What is their mission?
- To raise funds to enhance library programs and services
- To encourage broad-based public support, use and enjoyment of Grand County libraries.
- To foster literacy and learning
What do The Friends do?
The Friends partner with library staff to:
- Handle donations of used books and media
- Facilitate ongoing book sales at branch libraries
- Host large book sales each summer*
The Friends also:
- Sponsor other fundraising events (progressive dinners, auctions, bake sales, etc.)*
- Provide volunteer service at branch libraries
- Seek grants for library projects, programs and initiatives
