Download eBooks Directly to Your Device
Some mobile devices allow you to download directly from OverDrive to your device without requiring a computer. These include any devices running:
- Android v1.5 or newer
- Blackberry v4.5 or newer
- iOS v4.0 or newer
- Windows Phone 7
- Kindle Fire

Quick Start Guide for Kindle Fire
What you need
- Kindle Fire
- Wireless connection
- Amazon Account
- Library card
How it works
- Use the browser on the Kindle Fire to go to the marmot.lib.overdrive.com website.
- Sign in to your account with your library card number (to see OverDrive Advantage titles).
- Find a Kindle book, Add to Book Bag, Proceed to Checkout, Confirm Checkout and click Get for Kindle.
- Once you are redirected to the Amazon.com website, click Get Library Book (make sure you select the correct device).
- Click Download Now.
- Sync your Kindle Fire.
- Once you deliver a library book to your Kindle or Kindle reading app, it reads just like any other Kindle Book.

Quick Start Guide for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch
What you need
- iOS Device (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch)
- Wireless connection
- Apple ID
- OverDrive Media Console app
- Adobe ID
- Library card
How it works
- Download the free OverDrive Media Console app from the App Store (an Apple ID is required to download apps).
- Open the OverDrive Media Console app.
- Click on Get Books+ and Add a Website. Enter Grand County Library District or your zip to find our digital library (Marmot Library Network).
- Select Marmot Library Network.
- Sign in to OverDrive with your library card number (to see OverDrive Advantage titles).
- Find an EPUB book, Add to Book Bag, Proceed to Checkout, Confirm Checkout and click Download.
- If you haven't yet signed up for a free Adobe.com username and password, you will be asked to do so.
- When you download an eBook, your selection will open automatically in OverDrive's mobile app.
