GCLD Board of Trustees discusses the implications of the Gallagher Amendment on financial planning for the library

The Library Board is following with interest, the discussions around the Gallagher Amendment during the 120 day session of the Colorado Special Assembly. If Gallagher goes ahead, the reduced Residential Assessment Rate will have a negative effect on the revenues of special districts in rural communities. At his final state of the state address, Governor Hickenlooper called on lawmakers to “protect our rural communities” by addressing the “intense, negative impact” of Gallagher.
